Haafingar Located at the north-western tip of the province, Haafingar encompasses the area around Skyrim's capital of Solitude, and its namesake is the ancient name of that city. Elisif the Fair is the reigning Jarl in Haafingar.
The Pale The Pale is a barren realm covered by vast fields of ice and snow. Its boundaries stretch from the center of Skyrim all the way to its northern coast. Its capital of Dawnstar is one of the busiest ports in the province. Its reigning Jarl is Skald the Elder.
Winterhold Hold This bleak, snow-blown hold in the northeast corner of Skyrim is utterly inhospitable. The hold capital is a meager village built near the mages' college, all that is left after disaster struck them 80 years ago. Jarl Korir leads this Hold, but is often ignored by the other Jarls.
The Reach Dominating the western border of Skyrim, the Reach is made up almost entirely of steep, craggy mountains. Little grows in this forbidding realm. This region of Skyrim is home to the Forsworn, the rebellious natives of the Reach. Jarl Igmund rules from its capital of Markarth.
Whiterun Hold This central hold is characterized by wide, grassy plains that are home to numerous farms. Many roads pass through Whiterun, joining the more distant holds together. Its capital is Whiterun, and its governor is Jarl Balgruuf the Greater.
Eastmarch As its name suggests, Eastmarch is located in eastern Skyrim, sharing a common border with Morrowind. Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak rules from the ancient city of Windhelm, and this hold is thus under Stormcloak control.
Falkreath Hold The second southernmost hold of Skyrim, Falkreath Hold borders Cyrodiil in the south, and Hammerfell in the west. The hold is covered in characteristic pine forest. The most distinguishing geographic feature is Lake Ilinalta, the source for the White River. Its capital is Falkreath, and its governor is Jarl Siddgeir.
The Rift This hold occupies the southeast corner of Skyrim, and much like the Reach in the west, is dominated by tall mountain peaks. The climate in the Rift is milder than in the northern holds, and there is more vegetation to be found here. Farming thrives as a result. Its capital is Riften, and it is ruled by Laila Law-Giver.
Solstheim Solstheim is an island to the northwest of Vvardenfell and east of Skyrim, its climate being similar to the latter. Following the Red Year and the Second Arnesian War, many refugees from Morrowind fled to Solstheim.
In the Future If it takes place far after the time of the roleplay, it is played out here (even if it is on Nirn). This may not end up canon, as in-game events may change circumstances for characters and the world itself.
Unofficial Roleplay If you want to roleplay unofficially and just for fun, be it Elder Scrolls related or not, this is the place to do it. These roleplays have nothing to do with the Call of Time RP. Accounts are not needed for the characters you make here
Elder Scrolls Discussion Discussion of the Elder Scrolls franchise takes place here. If it's something new, note this in the title, and keep spoilers out of the title. Skyrim will have its own subforum, as some of our members have not had a chance to play it.
